Consisting of 3 sections: Slide Section, Print Section with two formats: Holmes Cards and Anaglyph Phantograms and Electronic/Internet/Digital Section.

Entering

            An entrant may enter a maximum of four images per section in any three stereo competitions: slides, cards, phantograms, or electronic.  Of course you may choose to enter fewer competitions.  You may NOT enter the same image in more than one section, even if the images have different titles.  We will not accept images that were previously accepted at any Cascade exhibition, even if the images were presented in the past in a different format.  Both new and experienced stereographers are encouraged to enter this exhibition.  There is no restriction to medium, either silver-based, or electronic.  There is no restriction as to subject matter.

 

PSA Recognition

            This exhibition and all its sections have been approved by PSA and will be conducted according to the latest Consolidated Exhibition Standards and Universal Practices recommended by the Photographic Society of America.  Accepted entries will be credited towards PSA Star Ratings and PSA Who’s Who.

 

Entrant Eligibility

            This exhibition is open to any living photographer.  However an entry may be rejected if the exhibition, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to the exhibition rules and conditions.

 

            An entrant may enter a combination of any three events, but not all four!  The entries will consist of up to 4 slides, and/or up to 4 cards, and /or up to 4 Phantograms, and /or up to 4 electronic/ digital images.  Of course and entrant may choose to enter fewer than 3 section.

 

            The original image must be made by the entrant on photographic emulsion, or acquired with a digital camera.  All images must be original and may not incorporate elements produced by anyone else.  Any modification of the original image must be made by the exhibitor.  All final work, slides, cards or phantograms, must be on photographic film or on photographic or electronic print material, mounting excepted.  By virtue of submission an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his/her own and permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition.  The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright by the entrant.  Entries which have been accepted in previous Cascade Exhibitions are not eligible for submission even if the images were presented in the past in a different format or under a different title.

 

Specifications for Slides, Cards and Anaglyph Phantograms

            Stereoscopic slides (transparencies) should have the standard dimensions of 1-5/8” X 4” (41mm X 101mm).  Slides may be up to full size of 8 sprocket-holes.  Each stereo slide should be marked with the title and number on front and the entrant’s name on the back.  A clearly visible spot should be marked on the lower left corner or the slide as viewed in a hand viewer.  Slides with broken glass may be remounted in RBT mounts by CSC.

 

Stereo cards may be either Holmes size (3-1/2” X 7”) or larger, up to (5” X 7”) side-by-side pairs.  Title, number and name of the entrant must be on the back of the card.  Numerical order of the entries and their titles should match those on the entry forms.  Images may be either in color or monochromatic and printed on any medium and by any method.

 

Anaglyph Phantograms should be created to be viewed at an angle of 30 to 45 degrees and at a distance from 2 to 3 feet.  They should be printed on paper 17” by 22” or smaller.  Standard red-blue anaglyph classes will be used to view the Phantograms.   Each Phantogram should have the title, number and name of the entrant only on the back of the print.  Numerical order of the entries and their titles should match those on the entry forms. 

 

Shipping

            All entries in the slide, card and phantogram sections must be sent prepaid.  Entries without sufficient fees will not be judged, nor returned to the entrant.  Entry forms and fees must be enclosed with the entry and sent by First Class or Foreign Air Mail.  The entry fee for the Electronic/Internet/Digital section should be sent in separately. No separate report cards and no return labels are necessary in any category.

 

Returns

            Domestic entries in the Slide, Card, and, Phantogram sections will be returned by First Class Mail and foreign entries by Air Mail.  See Calendar for dates of return of entries, reports and mailing of catalogs.  Reports for the Electronic/Digital Section will be sent by email only.  Reports for the Slide and Card sections will be sent either by email or mail.  Please indicate your preference on the form.

 

Entry Fees

            The fee for slides, cards and Phantograms is $7 USA and Canada, and $8 foreign.  The fee for the Electronic/Internet/Digital section is $5 either domestic of foreign.  Each section requires a separate entry fee.  Checks drawn on a US bank only are acceptable.  Make checks payable to: Cascade Stereoscopic Club.  US cash is acceptable.  Foreign Cash equivalent to at least US $12 per section is also acceptable in banknotes only.  Send cash at your own risk!

Liability

            All possible care will be taken in the handling and exhibiting of all entries, but no responsibility is assumed for any loss or damage to any portion of the entries at any time.  Slides will be projected using a Brackett projector.  Cards will be viewed with a standard stereoscopic viewer.  Phantograms will be viewed setting on a table at about 45 degrees and at about 3 feet. CSC takes no responsibility for infringement of copyright by entrants or for illegal duplication of any submitted material.

 

Judging

            All four events, slides, cards, phantograms, and electronic images, will be judged by 3 separate groups of 3 experienced judges.  In the slide, card, and Phantogram, sections an entrant’s four images will be distributed throughout 4 rounds of judging..

     Tentative Exhibition dates: November 3, November 10 and

     November 17, 2007

     Catalogs mailed: November 30, 2007

     All winning images for the exhibition will be on display at our website (http://www.cascade3d.org) for at least one month beginning November 6, 2007.
